Russell Burton-Lawrence, Jane Pearman, Claire Stuchbury, Laura Burton-Lawrence, Freddie the dogBroadcast on Thursday 9 February 2017.  Our studio guests were: Jane Pearman – CEO and Founder of Hypo Hounds, Claire Stuchbury – Trustee, and Freddie – Chief Fundraiser for the charity.  Jane was inspired to start the charity after her daughter was diagnosed with brittle Type 1 diabetes.  Jane was able to organise for her daughter’s dog, Scooby, to be trained to detect potential episodes of as a result of blood sugar levels either becoming too high or too low.

Not even a year old, Hypo Hounds have already trained 10 dogs in the Kent region and are looking to train even more due to the demand.  Listen to the show to find out about the training process and how you can help this new charity to do even more to help those in need.
