Broadcast on Thursday 27 October 2016. We were joined on the phone by Edenbridge Bonfire Society‘s spokesperson Jeni Fox to tell us all about the BIG event coming to Edenbridge on Saturday 5th November. Bonfire night in Edenbridge is a tradition which started in 1928. It is an event which has put the small Kent town of Edenbridge on the map year after year as the closely guarded secret of who the 10m celebrity guy will be. Over the last years Edenbridge has blown up such figures as Sepp Blatter, Katie Hopkins, Wayne Rooney, Lance Armstrong, Tony Blair to name just a few.
It was an absolutely fabulous show and Jeni Fox did the Bonfire Society proud as their spokesperson. Unfortunately, due to a technical problem, there is no recording of the show for you to listen again. But what we can tell you is that if you come over to Edenbridge on Saturday 5 November you will certainly be in for a treat. Starting at 6.30pm there will be a procession with walking parties and floats parading from Fircroft Way and down through Edenbridge High Street. This will be followed by a huge fireworks display on the recreation ground. Tickets are available in advance from Piper’s Florist, Foxwood Maclean and The Swan Public House at £6.00 per adult or £3.00 per child (5-15 yrs) or you can purchase tickets on the night at £8.00 per adult and £4.00 per child.
