The Community Show #26

By | October 22, 2015

Show #26-4Broadcast on Thursday 22nd October 2015.  Our studio guest was John Handley, CEO of The Bridge Trust, a homelessness charity based in Tonbridge.  Not only confined to London, homelessness is a problem across Kent.  The Bridge Trust provide more than a bowl of soup and a sleeping bag.  They provide homes and support for their clients to help them get back to being able to be independent and with a home.  In the past year alone they have received 180 requests for accommodation but with only 24 beds available they cannot help everyone.  Of course they don’t turn their backs on those they have no space for but help them get support from other agencies across Kent.

Listen to the show to find out more about what the charity are doing, what they have done since John last appeared on the show earlier in the year, and maybe you might like to volunteer, donate goods to sell in their shops or make a financial donation to this great local cause.
