Broadcast on Thursday 9th July 2015. Our studio guest was Adam McEvoy, South Powerchair Football Development Officer – The Wheelchair Football Association (The WFA). Having traveled back from Paris last week, he braved the detour caused by Operation Stack to reach the studio in time! Powerchair Football is a fast growing sport and Adam is responsible for raising awareness and spreading the word as far and wide across the South as possible. Currently nearing the end of an initial funding period, Adam and his colleagues at The WFA are seeking other ways to enable them to be able to continue growing this sport and raising awareness across the UK. In Kent there are currently two Clubs – Sevenoaks Powerchair Football Club and Invicta Powerchair Football Club in Medway. Adam would like to start up a new club to cover the East Kent area so if you or anyone you know may be interested, Adam would love to hear from you. Listen to the show to find out more about this great sport and maybe get involved yourself!
