Broadcast on Thursday 22nd November 2018. We were joined on the phone by Jo Banks and Kerry Battersby from the Edenbridge Community Christmas Association. Kerry wanted to bring Christmas back to her local town centre and in January this year put a shout out on Facebook to see if anyone would help. The result has been that a committee was formed with other members of the community and their first community Christmas event is taking place on Saturday 1st December between 2-7pm in Edenbridge High Street with the Christmas Lights switch on taking place at 5pm. Pop down there to see Christmas once more being celebrated in the town centre.
We also had a guest interview with Louise Reid from Dandelion Time, a charity who provide support to children with very challenging emotional issues with a family based approach. The charity are launching their Christmas Challenge which will run from midday on 27th November until midday on 4th December 2018. During this time ALL donations will be DOUBLED by generous match funders so if you were thinking of making a donation before, wait until midday on 27th November 2018 before you do.
Listen to the show to hear these interviews and find out about some of the events taking place in Kent, Surrey and Sussex over the next few weeks.
