Broadcast on Thursday 26th May 2016. We were joined in the studio by 3 volunteers from Kent Search and Rescue (KSAR): Steve Holman – Community Liaison, Stuart Kenny – Training Officer, and Sky – Trained Search Dog. KSAR are a charitable organisation dedicated to assisting the emergency services in the search for and rescue of vulnerable missing persons. Everyone involved in the organisation is a volunteer and all the money raised goes into the organisation to make sure they have everything they need to be able to carry out their searches. KSAR work closely with Kent Police and they respond to 999 calls coming in where vulnerable people have been reported missing.
Listen to the show to find out what’s involved in becoming a volunteer, how the organisation operates, how you (and your dog) can get involved and how you can support in other ways to help KSAR to continue the great work they do.
