Broadcast on Thursday 18th February 2016. Our studio guests were Elaine Ferris and Penny Hibberd (Consultant Admiral Nurse) from the Good Care Group talking about Dementia and an important event taking place next week on Wednesday 24th February “Coping with Dementia as a family” from 6-8.30pm at Sevenoaks District Council, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks TN13 1HG. There are many services and resources out there to help people living with dementia but it’s not always easy to know where to go. With 20,000 people recognised as living with dementia in Kent and Medway and with the population living longer years, it’s something we all need to familiarise ourselves with. Listen to the show to find out about some of the things you can do to help and where you can go for further information.
Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who give expert practical, clinical and emotional support to families living with dementia to help them cope. They have their own helpline number if you have any questions: 0800 888 6678.
