The Community Show #33

By | December 10, 2015

Russell Burton-Lawrence, Stan Willis, Laura Burton-LawrenceBroadcast on Thursday 10th December 2015.  Our studio guest was Stan Willis, founding member of the Sevenoaks Community First Responders (CFRs).  There are CFRs all over Kent (and the UK) who are volunteers who respond to emergency calls on behalf of South East Coast Ambulance Service.  They often arrive at life threatening emergencies before the ambulance can get there as they are locally based.   Listen to the show to find out more about the role of the CFRs within our local communities, what the training process is, how they operate and how vital it is for these groups to receive support and funding from within the community.  It’s only through funding that they can afford the equipment they need to perform their roles.

If you’d like to find out more about how to get involved, you can visit the website www.sevenoakscfrs.org, find them on facebook or follow them on Twitter @SevenoaksCFR  You can also download a copy of their flyer by clicking here.

Stan also picked the winner of Cinderella competition and the lucky winner was Tori Corcoran who will be seeing the Panto tomorrow night at the Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells.  Well done Tori!

Of course no show would be complete without the usual banter, laugher and of course plenty of event shout outs for things going on around Kent and on the county borders.
