Broadcast on Thursday 10th May 2018. It was our annual broadcast about Dying Matters Awareness week, this year from 14th-20th May 2018. We were joined in the studio by Sandra Cayzer and Lyn Folan from Heart of Kent Hospice. It’s not an easy topic to discuss with family and loved ones but if it remains undiscussed until it’s too late, there can be many difficulties arising when someone passes away. Sandra and Lyn explain the importance of these discussions and suggest ways to start this difficult conversation with those you love.
As well as an abundance of resources on the Dying Matters website, Heart of Kent Hospice have a play being performed on Monday 14th May which takes a light-hearted look at the subject:
“Outside the Box – A Live Show About Death”
It’s an acclaimed fringe festival show which is coming to Kent for the first time. Funny, witty and entertaining, the show features stories and music about life’s final act. Part theatre, part spoken word, the production is described as “a life affirming, empowering and entertaining show, during which Liz Rothschild deals with some difficult topics while making us laugh – and pause for thought.”
